Hot stone massage therapy is a treatment where Swedish massage techniques are used along with heated basalt stones. A 60 minute appointment is a good option for focusing on relieving a few problem areas. Hot stone massage therapy can help to relieve stress, increase circulation, reduce pain, relax muscle tension, and increase flexibility. It has been known to help ease symptoms for people with fibromyalgia, arthritis, tension headaches, and anxiety, as well as those looking for relief from everyday aches and pains. The heated stones relax muscles and make deep pressure techniques more comfortable. This can make it easier to treat knots and trigger points. Hot stone massage should be avoided during pregnancy or shortly after giving birth. And it may be dangerous for those with diabetes, high blood pressure, peripheral vascular disorder, a recent injury, or acute skin conditions (like psoriasis or eczema).

Specialized Physiotherapy is becoming more established in the literature as the first line of defence against Incontinence and Pelvic Pain. Pelvic Floor Dysfunction can be caused by: •HYPOTONICITY: contributing to stress incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse •HYPERTONICITY: contributing to Urgency, Urge Incontinence, Chronic Pelvic Pain, Dyspareunia, Vaginismus, Vulvodynia, Pudendal Neuralgia, Interstitial Cystitis and Chronic Prostatitis. Kegels are NOT always indicated for pelvic floor problems. Sometimes they do more harm than good, and often they are NOT performed correctly. The Cochrane Collaboration 2010 concluded that Physiotherapists with specialized training in pelvic floor rehabilitation (using internal examination to teach the exercises) should be the first line of defence, before surgical consultation, for stress, urge and mixed incontinence in women.

  • Manual therapy for symptom modification and trigger points.
  • Shockwave therapy for various conditions.
  • Vestibular therapy for balance and dizziness issues.
  • Pelvic floor physiotherapy for women's health concerns.
  • Concussion management and rehabilitation.
  • IMS dry needling for muscle pain relief.
