Common questions
The essentials: what AppointmentFind is, how listings work, and how fresh the data is.
What's the catch?
There's no catch. There is not — and will not be — a paywall for either clients or practitioners. We built AppointmentFind to help people find the right care faster, and keeping it free and open to everyone is the whole point.
To help cover our running costs we're looking into options like sponsorships, but anything along those lines would only ever be an optional add-on — never something that gets between people and finding, or being found for, care.
Why is practitioner X not listed?
There are a few possible reasons:
1. The business page isn't registered
If the entire practice or business isn't showing up, please contact us to request it be added.
2. The practitioner isn't accepting new clients
We try to only list practitioners who are accepting new clients. If a practitioner at a known business isn't showing up at all, we may not have detected them as accepting new clients. If this is incorrect, please contact us.
3. The practitioner has opted out
Practitioners can request to be removed from our listings. If someone you're looking for previously appeared but is no longer listed, they may have opted out.
4. The practitioner is listed but shows no openings
If a practitioner is listed but their initial treatment type wasn't detected correctly, they may appear to have no availability. Please contact us.
How current is the availability information?
Appointment availability is updated in real-time from provider booking systems.
How do treatment tags work?
Each treatment a practitioner offers can carry one or more tags. A tag captures something about the treatment — the style of work (such as swedish), who it's for (such as prenatal), or that the practitioner is taking new clients. Massage licensing is a separate licensed tag (shown as registered for Canadian locations) and never determines whether a specialty tag applies.
Massage includes all providers by default. Where possible, we also show registered or licensed providers separately and offer a Registered filter to narrow your search.
On the openings page we show the single top-ranking treatment for each practitioner whose tags cover what you searched for. How a practitioner spreads those tags across their treatments is up to them.
Example 1 — two treatments
In a region with registration filtering, a massage therapist might split their work into two separate treatments:

With the licensing control set to Licensed, a new client searching for general massage (general + new + licensed) is covered by the first treatment, so that's the one we show them. A client looking for prenatal massage matches the second treatment instead. The default Massage search includes providers with or without the Registered tag.
Example 2 — one treatment
Another therapist folds everything into a single treatment:

Because this one treatment carries all of those tags, it matches both Licensed searches — general + new + licensed and prenatal + new + licensed — so the same treatment is shown to either client.
Tags are an evolving set, not a fixed list. Everyone describes their treatments a little differently, and there are surely modalities we haven't come across yet. If a tag you're looking for is missing, please email us — include an example treatment or two it would apply to — and we'll look at adding it.

Is AppointmentFind free to use?
Yes, AppointmentFind is completely free for anyone searching for appointments. There's no payment required to search, compare availability, and find a booking link.

Do I book appointments directly on AppointmentFind?
No, AppointmentFind shows you available appointments and provides links to the practitioner's booking system where you complete your booking.
What do the tags on a practitioner's treatments mean?
Every practitioner has their own distinct approach to treatment. The tags on each treatment are our attempt to make it easier to match a client with a practitioner who's the right fit — based on the practitioner's preferred mode of practice and the needs of the client.
We've recently added the ability to vote on tags as a way to recommend a practitioner to others for a particular service. For example, if you'd recommend a practitioner for someone seeking deep-tissue massage, voting for that tag on their treatment is a good way to highlight and recommend them for it.
It's a new feature, and something we're experimenting with.
What can I do with an account?
Signing in unlocks a few extra features:
- Favorite your preferred practitioners so they're easy to find again.
- Vote on treatment tags to recommend practitioners for specific services.
More account features are coming in the future.

Is it free to be listed?
Yes — there's no cost to be listed on AppointmentFind, and there never will be. Being found by people looking for care is the whole idea.

Which disciplines do you support?
We currently support Massage, Acupuncture, Athletic Therapy, Chiropractic, Kinesiology, Naturopath, Osteopathy, Physiotherapy, Reflexology and Lymphatic Drainage.
We're open to considering other disciplines. If there's one you'd like to see added, please reach out and let us know.
Can mobile practitioners be listed?
A geographic point is core to how AppointmentFind works — we use it to determine which practitioners appear within a given search area. For mobile practitioners, a common approach is to set the address to a postal or zip code at the center of your service area.
We only use that point to decide which practitioners are included in results — we don't show clients a map or directions to a specific business location. Any details about where the service actually takes place are handled once we send the client to your booking page.
Which booking platforms do you support?
We support a number of different booking platforms. The easiest way to check is to add your booking site — we'll try to add it automatically and let you know whether it's supported.
If your platform isn't supported yet, please reach out and we'll look into adding it.
How are practitioners added to AppointmentFind?
All practitioners who are listed are either found through public search or submitted directly. Our goal is to only list practitioners who are publicly listed and accepting new clients.
Claim your clinic
If your clinic's listed email is a Google account, try signing in with it to claim automatically.
Or email [email protected] from an address we can verify belongs to your clinic to request a special claim link.
Once claimed, use Manage clinic on your clinic page for self-service access to update clinic details, treatment information, and staff information.
How can I update my profile or listing?
Clinic owners can claim their clinic and use Manage clinic to update clinic details, treatment information, and staff information, including treatment tags and summaries.
If you need help with access or a change you cannot make in self service, contact us with the requested update.
How can I opt out of being listed?
Just reach out via our contact page and let us know whether you'd like to remove an entire business or an individual practitioner, and we'll take care of it.
