Initial assessment manual osteopathic therapy

Manual Osteopathy, as practiced in Canada by manual osteopathic practitioners, is a type of manual therapy (meaning we use our hands to assess as well as treat) which aims to restore optimal function in the body. This goal is achieved by the use of the manual osteopath’s sense of touch that is developed over many years of training. This refined palpation skill allows the practitioner to feel not only surface tensions, like muscle tensions and inflammation, but also deeper tensions, restrictions and distortions. The concept of the inter-relatedness of the body’s systems and tissues also plays an important role in how the manual osteopath reasons, and lends a holistic perspective to the therapy.

45 Mins - Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage - Initial Treatment

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a specialized massage therapy that is very gentle and relaxing, but it has powerful effects. *This is not a regular massage, by any means.* This form of massage, focusing on the immune system, was created to move stagnate fluid back into circulation. It is a treatment option to help with reduction of edema, detoxification and an overall sense of well-being. My sessions focus mainly on the head and upper body, which draws the lymph upward. Lymphatic drainage massage is a technique that uses light pressure and specific motions to gently drain excess fluid. This massage works specifically on the face/neck (Terminus) and areas where we are most likely to suffer from Lymph Node congestion. This treatment can help remove toxins, reduce tension, headaches, sinus congestion, inflammation, swelling and to increase circulation leaving the client totally relaxed with a feeling of well-being. ** Manual Lymphatic Drainage is not for everyone. ** Intake forms MUST be filled in and submitted prior to treatment. **There is a waiting period of at least 14 days after surgery, before any treatment can take place.** It's important to note that lymphatic drainage techniques are not recommended for people who have a heart condition, Atrial fibrillation (AFIB), kidney problems or cellulitis or if you have an active infection. Please consult your physician prior to treatment if you have or think you may have any of these conditions.** ** I also do not do any prenatal treatments**. **Please note, all massage sessions include pre & post consultation, home care recommendations & disrobing in the allotted treatment time.
