Massage

Chinese orthopedic massage (twee-nah)combines principles of acupressure, manual manipulation, and specific massage techniques to target both surface and deeper tissues. A variety of techniques are used, such as kneading, rolling, pressing, and stretching, depending on the patient’s needs. Movements can range from gentle to vigorous, depending on whether the goal is to relax tense muscles, improve circulation, or mobilize joints. This type of therapy precedes the acupuncture portion of the combination treatment. The two modalities complement one another and are more effective when combined in one session.
