life force healing and touch

The focus in a deep tissue massage is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints). This massage technique uses minimal oil application and techniques such as dredging, press-release, and rolling. Stretching and traction is also applied to help create more range of motion. Typically this technique can be a bit uncomfortable at times due to the very deep pressure. I typically advise my clients to inform me if their pain level increases above a 6 or 7 out of 10 in pain scale. At that point, I do not apply any additional pressure. Although the pain level may be uncomfortable it should be tolerable. I guide my clients through deep breaths to help relax and release the muscle further. Studies have shown significant benefits on lowering blood pressure and heart rate after just a 60 minute deep tissue massage. Hot towels and aromatherapy applied.
