Massage

This treatment combines deep tissue massage with specialized cupping techniques including myofascial release to unwind patterns of tension held in the deep fascia and muscles of the body. With a focus on alignment, the body is assessed for possible compensations that may be limiting movement or contributing to reduced functioning, whether symptomatic or not. Specific attention is paid to the releasing of muscles along lines of tension to reduce pain and discomfort caused by myofascial restrictions and trigger points. A combination of cupping techniques are used to help flush the tissues and release adhesions before and after deep trigger point work, reducing the likelihood of soreness without compromising targeted relief. This treatment may include specialized stretching, strengthening or mobility exercises to support anything from activities of daily living to optimizing sport-specific performance. Excellent for chronic pain, repetitive strain injuries, pre/post surgery rehab, preventative care and management of chronic muscle tension.

Lymphatic Drainage

A very gentle and relaxation-based massage, this treatment uses specialized manual lymphatic drainage techniques to mimic the natural direction and flow of lymph throughout the body. Rhythmic in nature, manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) techniques direct the flow of lymph and bodily fluids toward primary lymph nodes for optimal drainage. Light pressure is an essential component to the efficacy of this treatment as the lymph nodes are superficially located under the skin. Gua Sha or scraping tools may be used to encourage the mobilization of trapped fluids that can cause symptoms of puffiness, swelling, edema, or water retention. Consider more frequent sessions on a monthly basis for preventative care to support the body’s natural detoxification process. Techniques may be applied to the whole body, including the face, neck and scalp. Excellent for general relief of stress and relaxation, pre or post surgery recovery and for acute musculoskeletal injuries requiring support with drainage and tissue healing.
