Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a type of gentle treatment which is intended to encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart. Can reduce swelling, inflammation, pain and sedate the sympathetic nervous system. This is technically a skin treatment and does not impact the musculature. Can be supportive pre and post operation, during pregnancy, a detox, with an injury or lack of mobility.
