This therapeutic treatment focuses on alleviating muscle or joint pain through the use of cupping, tui na massage techniques and/or gua sha tools, without acupuncture. Cupping involves placing suction cups on the skin to stimulate blood flow, reduce inflammation, and promote healing. Gua sha involves using a smooth-edged tool to gently scrape the skin to release tension and improve circulation. Both techniques are non-invasive approaches to healing - rooted in traditional Chinese medicine.
