Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is an important part of your personal health care maintenance plan. Massage can help reduce or eliminate pain, improve joint mobility and circulation, reduce tension in muscles and improve lymphatic drainage. Massage therapy can also be used for the treatment of both acute and chronic conditions. Massage is also great for prevention, so that you can avoid more serious conditions and injuries before they take you out of the game.

Naturopathic Medicine

The naturopathic teaching clinic provides practical, clinical experience to naturopathic medical students from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine - Boucher Campus (CCNM-Boucher). The students conduct appointments and treat patients while under the supervision of licensed naturopathic doctors. What is naturopathic medicine? “Naturopathic medicine is a distinct primary health care profession, emphasizing prevention, treatment, and optimal health through the use of therapeutic methods and substances that encourage individuals’ inherent self-healing process. The practice of naturopathic medicine includes modern and traditional, scientific, and empirical methods.” (American Association of Naturopathic Physicians). CCNM-Boucher Our students receive postgraduate academic and clinical training during their four year naturopathic degree. ND students acquire a deep knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, biochemistry, and all of the specialty areas of medicine (for example, physical examinations). They also develop skills to help rebalance the body through the application of the previously mentioned 'therapeutic methods and substances' - nutrition and lifestyle modification (as well as supplementation), herbal medicine, homeopathy, manual therapies (including joint manipulation), hydrotherapy, acupuncture, and when needed, pharmaceutical prescriptions. Note that the naturopathic clinic is unable to accept patients with active ICBC or WCB claims at this time.
