In 2009 Erin graduated with honours from Elmcrest College of Applied Health Sciences and was registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. At school, her internships included treating athletes at the Toronto marathon and other sporting events; placements at North York General Hospital’s Labour & Delivery ward treating labouring and post-partum women and newborns; and at Rosalie Hall Young Parent Resource Centre treating young mothers and their infants. She also spearheaded and volunteered in Elmcrest’s mentorship program assisting students with assessments and treatments in their first term in the student massage clinic. As an RMT in Ontario, Erin was trained in Swedish massage, and combines these skills with many specific techniques such as trigger point therapy, myofascial release, joint play manipulations, hydrotherapy, and lymphatic drainage. In 2019 she became a certified Thai massage practitioner as well. She has experience treating many states of health including pregnancy, athletic and occupational overuse and fatigue, acute and chronic strains and sprains, postural conditions, surgical recovery, headaches, autism, edema, frozen shoulder, infant stress and digestive issues, and many more. She is also a Certified SpiderTech kinesiology tape Provider. SpiderTech tape-based therapeutic supports can be applied in tandem with your therapy to help reduce pain, support structures during healing, and stimulate improved function. Contact Erin for more details or to include application of SpiderTech tape at your next appointment. Outside of her love of massage, Erin is also a mom, and enjoys exercising, word games, and listening to music. Prior to massage school, she studied theatre and improv, and worked in record stores for many years. Your first meeting will include an intake and assessment to establish a safe and effective massage treatment plan. From there, Erin will work closely with you to determine your comfort level and preferred techniques, and to attain your short-term and long-term goals towards pain-free, healthy living! Keeping an open communication about your goals and responses to treatment are very important, and Erin will also provide exercises and post-treatment care to empower you to take charge in the healing process.
An ideal length for a general full body treatment, or for great detailed work on half the body, a thorough assessment and home care program, and to fully decompress.
