Robert moved to Canada in October 2023 from his home country of the Netherlands where he worked as a physiotherapist for a number of years, following his Canadian wife back to her roots in Calgary. In 2018 he graduated with honours from the University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam. During his studies he completed three internships, one in a pediatric rehabilitation hospital in Nepal, and the other two at sports physiotherapy practices in Australia and The Netherlands. Working in different countries exposed him to different ways of providing physiotherapy and in working in and with different cultures. Robert has experience treating athletes such as runners, cyclists, and weightlifters, and has additional training in sports-specific rehabilitation. He has also provided patient care for post-surgery rehab (e.g. ACL reconstruction, total knee and hip replacements) and individuals with neurological disorders. In his off time, Robert enjoys the outdoors. You will often see him hiking, playing soccer, or out for runs. As he is passionate about movement, he strives to help others achieve pain-free movement in their daily activities. Of course, as a true Dutchman, you will often see him on his bike commuting around town. And if he remembers to check the weather forecast and sees that it is going south, he can then be found playing boardgames with friends.
