Dr. Mark Perez was born and raised in the high desert of Southern California, a beautiful region where you’d find him riding dirt bikes year-round and snowboarding in the winter. His favorite sports growing up were wrestling, baseball, and football. While attending college in the beautiful Central Coast of California, he spent his free time surfing, hiking, and CrossFit. In 2018, Dr. Perez and his chiropractor wife, Dr. Jenifer Perez, moved to the Mile High City and began to put down roots. His passions outside of the office include smoking brisket, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and spending time with his family. Education After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in biology from California Polytechnic State University of San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly SLO), Dr. Perez started his chiropractic career by attending Parker University in Dallas, TX. During his time at Parker University, Dr. Perez immersed himself in techniques tailored to improve the lives of athletes and “weekend warriors.” Soon after graduating with a doctorate in chiropractic, he began practicing in Denver, CO. Dr. Perez is currently pursuing his Certified Chiropractic Sport Physician (CCSP) credential to continue to better his assessment and treatment strategies for sports-related injuries. Why are you a sports chiropractor As a year-round athlete, Dr. Perez was no stranger to sports injuries. After suffering a serious shoulder injury during a wrestling match, he experienced the high and lows of modern healthcare. He learned firsthand that traditional medicine is designed to “fix” the symptom but often does not address the “why.” Often, the site of pain is just a symptom of biomechanical faults in other regions of the body. His knowledge in biomechanics and personal athletic history fuel his passion for getting his patients out of pain quickly and providing them with long term results.
