Abigail (Abbey) is a Registered Massage Therapist with the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC); formerly the College of Massage Therapy of British Columbia. A typical appointment with Abigail will include an assessment period to ensure safety, efficacy, and consent, followed by a hands-on treatment that combines elements of relaxation with therapeutic techniques. Abbey’s preferred treatment techniques include Swedish massage, Lymphatic Drainage, neuromuscular and myofascial techniques, dynamic release and joint mobilizations to improve joint health. Abigail is a graduate from the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy, class of 2022. Additionally, she holds a certification in Dr. Vodder’s Level 2 Applied Manual Lymphatic Drainage. Pulling from Dr. Vodder School’s website, Level 2 Applied MLD is appropriate for patients with functional lymphatic systems and conditions such as whiplash, burns, migraines, tinnitus, CRPS, stroke, supination trauma for the ankle, knee arthroplasty, cruciate ligament repair, adhesive capsulitis and hip pathologies. Abigail’s first introduction to massage was the character Phoebe from Friends. This lighthearted interest eventually became an obvious career choice as massage therapy amalgamated her interests in self development, health, fitness, and biology. Outside of work Abbey’s interests include weight lifting, knitting, pottery and recreational sports.
