Stephanie Bean, LMT, RCST I completed the 600 hour massage therapy training program at Potomac Massage Training Institute in DC and earned my Associate's Degree in Health Education from Montgomery College in Rockville, MD in 2005. Since then, I have actively worked in the massage field with clients from many backgrounds, from athletes of all ages to people at all stages of fertility and those with complex medical conditions, including cancer survivors and those with diminished physical and mental capacities, often coupled with advanced age, up to and including hospice care. In my advanced training, I completed the 700 hour Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) professional training program in 2019. This modality supports the nervous system and is based on very gentle and non-invasive touch. I value treating every client in a way that preserves their autonomy and dignity, gives opportunities for healthy, trauma-informed touch and encouraging health positive behaviors in a friendly way. I am happy to coordinate with other health care providers or case managers, as well as family members in charge of care for a relative. MD license M03096 DC license MT0701
Medical massage incorporates many techniques to address muscle and skeletal issues diagnosed by a doctor. Techniques might include Swedish or deep tissue strokes, light or still touch, depending on current goals and underlying conditions.
