Dr. Julian Velez earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, ON. He is also an Advanced Practice Clinician with the Rapid Access Clinics for Low Back Pain through Toronto Western Hospital where he triages patients for spine surgery. Additionally, he is a certified provider of Neurofunctional Acupuncture. His interest in healthcare and athletics began at an early age, actively participating in volleyball, track, and earning a scholarship to the esteemed Prestige Dance Academy in Calgary, AB, during high school. His training in classic and contemporary dance fostered a further interest in understanding biomechanics, propelling him to pursue a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree with a specialization in Mind Sciences from the University of Calgary. Through clinical rotations at St. Michael’s Hospital and Sherbourne Health Centre, Dr. Velez gained extensive medical experience. In addition, he was selected as one of the ten interns for the Wellness team at the People with AIDS Foundation Bike Rally, further enriching his skills. His treatments integrate various modalities such as Exercise Prescription, Patient Education, Spinal & Extremity Joint Mobilization & Manipulation, Soft Tissue Therapy, Electro-Acupuncture, and more. Originally from South America, Julian spent his early childhood in Medellin, Colombia, before moving to Canada. Fluent in Spanish, French, and English, he maintains a deep connection to his Colombian roots, often exploring Toronto’s coffee shops and indulging his passion for travel.
