Reya Kristelle Maalat is a dedicated and skilled Physiotherapy Resident with a strong foundation in patient-centered care. She earned her degree in Physical Therapy from St. Paul University Iloilo, graduating with the Class of 2016. After graduation, she worked for one year in a hospital in the Philippines, where she gained valuable experience in both in-patient and out-patient settings. This role allowed her to provide care across a broad spectrum—from acute care to outpatient rehabilitation—enhancing her ability to develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient’s specific needs and capabilities. In 2018, Reya relocated to Canada and furthered her education by completing the Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant (OTA/PTA) program at Fleming College in Peterborough. This program strengthened her clinical knowledge and practical skills, supporting her continued growth as a healthcare professional. With over four years of experience in utilizing therapeutic modalities, including shockwave therapy, Reya is proficient in applying evidence-based interventions aimed at pain reduction and improved functional outcomes. She strongly believes in a comprehensive approach to rehabilitation, integrating therapeutic exercise, advanced modalities, and patient education to optimize recovery and promote long-term wellness.
