Danica is an experienced Paediatric Physiotherapist, who has dedicated her career to working with children of all ages and varying ability levels. Danica believes in a client and family centered, play based approach - her motto is “when you play, play this way”. Danica’s goal is for every child she works with to be able to participate in their desired activities to the best of their abilities. Danica is passionate about creating activities that can be easily replicated at home in order to optimize each child’s benefits from physiotherapy sessions and a home program. She loves to share information on WHY certain activities are important and HOW they are helping children. She believes it is important to keep the family’s goals at the forefront, and to meet each child at their ability level. Danica received her Bachelor of Science with Specialized Honours in Kinesiology and Health Science from York University in 2011, and then her Master of Science in Physiotherapy from McMaster University in 2014. She is registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO) and is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA) and its Paediatric Division. Danica regularly completes continuing education courses in order to further her skills and keep her knowledge up to date. Danica is excited to join The WOMB Vaughan team, and eager to meet new families and share her expertise! Apart from Physiotherapy, Danica is a mother to 4 young boys who keep her and her husband on their toes. Danica is always up for a couch cushion obstacle course, or bug hunt – but messy play is her favourite! Before the wonderful chaos of her boys, Danica was an avid runner and dabbled in IRONMAN races, and was a competitive swimmer and then swim coach for many years before that.
