Using chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue therapies, modalities and rehabilitative measures, a sports chiropractor aims to restore and enhance the body’s neuromusculoskeletal system for peak performance. The human body is considered an integrated system, not a collection of individual parts. A Sports Chiropractor is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of sport related injury. They are proficient in injury prevention and rehabilitation measures and have sound knowledge base of return-to-play criteria.
Functional Movement Screen: A Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is a way to analyze movement patterns and observe mobility and stability deficits. The purpose of a functional movement screen is to help identify any limitations or asymmetries that may restrict your athletic potential or increase your risk of injury. Screening helps ensure that you have a solid movement foundation and can take on more complex exercises or demanding activities. Who Can Benefit from a Movement Screen? Because a movement screen, or functional movement screen, is simply a measurement tool, anyone can benefit from an evaluation. You do not need to be an athlete to have a movement screen (although it is, in fact, utilized in preseason performance testing for elite sports clubs around the world).
