Dr. Dalen Matthysen, DC, MSc (Sports Medicine) is a second-generation, locally raised chiropractor who focuses on functional health and helping motivated people improve their quality of life. After completing a Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of the Fraser Valley, Dr. Matthysen earned his Doctor of Chiropractic and Master of Science in Sports Medicine from the University of Western States, graduating Summa Cum Laude. At 17 he rehabilitated his own football knee injury — an experience that sparked his passion for movement, recovery, and empowering others. He has since worked extensively with high-school athletes and served as one of the chiropractors for the BC Lions, bringing hands-on sports experience into his clinical practice. Dr. Matthysen’s approach is science-based and movement-focused. He emphasizes patient education and a practical blend of condition explanation, targeted exercise, nutrition guidance, and lifestyle modification. His goal is to give patients the tools and confidence to take control of their health, improve their function, and get back to the activities they love. Outside the clinic he stays active year-round — hiking, skiing, water sports, and travelling — and lives in BC with his wife, Hannah (RMT), and their dog, Guinness. He’s an approachable community practitioner who enjoys supporting people at all stages of their health and performance journey.
