Cathy Keenan is a registered acupuncturist (R.Ac) who completed her diploma in Acupuncture at The Institute of Traditional Medicine in Toronto in 2009. After giving birth to her first child, she developed a rare pregnancy related disease and spent more than a year recovering from heart failure. While her body and mind were recovering Cathy did a 3 year, part-time, internship with a third generation acupuncturist who practiced and taught Japanese Acupuncture. Cathy was drawn to this style of acupuncture for its gentle approach. In the last few years Cathy has been working in a high volume community acupuncture clinic in downtown Toronto offering accessible and inclusive health care to many people in her community. Cathy enjoys inspiring and empowering her patients to become active participants in their health and healing. For the last two decades, Cathy has been teaching movement/yoga classes and offers a wealth of knowledge on simple self-care and mindfulness practices to her patients. Along with her clinical work, Cathy has produced online courses on acupressure for stress and anxiety and a 14day self-care challenge. In her spare time, you may find her practicing Qi Gong down by The Columbia River.
