Laura spent 10 years in medical lab research on projects investigating cancer and cellular regulation. She earned her PhD in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and also completed Post-Doctoral research. Afterward, as a result of her personal beliefs in holistic medicine, Laura transitioned into the world of Chinese medicine and Acupuncture. Laura is a Registered Acupuncturist in good standing with the College of Acupuncturists of Alberta (CAA). Chinese medicine is a fascinating form of medicine. It possesses unique tools to treat and prevent health conditions. Laura feels these tools are an untapped resource in the West. The ancient practice of Qigong is another interest of Laura’s. Laura is a gentle practitioner, easily connects with patients’ concerns, and creates a calm and relaxed environment that puts patients at ease. Everyone is so different and finding the right treatment for her patients is her goal. The styles of acupuncture Laura practices are gentle. Most new patients are pleasantly surprised to find that they experience little to no discomfort during treatment. Many individuals feel quite relaxed during their acupuncture sessions—some even fall asleep!
