With over 30 years of clinical experience, Michael believes in a relaxed, supportive environment for patients. Michael’s goal is to help you achieve lasting results through clear communication and expert clinical skills. Michael has advanced training in the treatment of spinal conditions and lower extremity injuries. He is fully credentialed in the McKenzie Method (MDT), a world-renowned approach for diagnosing and treating back, neck, and joint pain. He is widely consulted on spinal conditions as well as mechanical headache management from clinicians across Canada and internationally. He holds not only a clinical Masters Degree in Physiotherapy, but also holds a research Masters degree in Sports Medicine, Biomechanics and Exercise Physiology as well as numerous international publications in peer-reviewed journals. Patients benefit from his diverse toolkit of advanced therapies, including: - Dry Needling & Acupuncture: For targeted pain relief and muscle recovery. - Elite Sports Experience: Michael has served on the medical teams for the FIFA World Cup, World Nordic Games, World Baseball Championships, Scott Tournament of Hearts, Calgary Stampede Marathon, National Cycling Championships, bringing pro-level care to every patient he sees. As a long standing Assistant Professor at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, Michael stays at the forefront of medical research and teaches the next generation of physicians and other healthcare professionals. A long-time resident of Thunder Bay, he understands the unique needs of our community. Michael is a firm believer in a healthy work-life balance. When he isn’t in clinic, he is likely spending time with his wife and two children, singing with the Voices of Harmony group or enjoying the outdoors. His easy going nature and sense of humor help make the recovery process not just effective, but enjoyable.
