John is a graduate of the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy. He decided to become a massage therapist because he loves helping people. As a therapist, he knows that combining techniques like myofascial release, deep tissue work, and trigger point therapy with relaxation techniques makes for a relaxing, yet effective massage. John is knowledgeable in treating a wide variety of conditions which patients may present with, such as Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, spinal cord injury, down’s syndrome, ALS, tight muscles from everyday use, tension headaches, TMJ, tennis and golfer’s elbow and a variety of other conditions. He is fortunate to have helped clients with varying conditions from the different outreaches which he attended. Helping bedridden patients at Louis Brier Home and Hospital, calming high stress patients at Ronald McDonald House, decreasing tension and establishing an effective way to communicate with clinics that were unable to verbalize what they required at George Pearson Centre, and treating clients with Trisomy 21 at Summit just to name a few. Establishing a way to communicate during treatment is key to an effective and safe treatment. John is also able to communicate in his native tongue Vietnamese to better communicate with clients that speak mostly Vietnamese. John takes continuing education courses to further develop new techniques to advance patient care. At the end of the day he finds great fulfillment knowing he has helped make a difference in helping his clients with their health and lifestyle goals. John’s other passions in life include the outdoors, traveling, animals, jiu-jitsu, and spending time with family and friends.
