About Kayla I completed my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2018 at the University of Lethbridge and my Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 2021 at the University of Alberta. I have always been extremely passionate about injury rehabilitation and encouraging others to pursue a healthy balanced lifestyle by participating in activities they love! My interest in physiotherapy stemmed from my involvement in sport growing up. I grew up in Lethbridge and moved away from home in grade 10 to pursue my figure skating career. I was accepted to the National Sport School and trained at Canada Olympic Park; here, I had the pleasure of being surrounded by elite athletes from a variety of sports. I also had a well-rounded team that assisted with on-ice technical skills, strength and conditioning, dance, nutrition, sport psychology, and rehabilitation. Through this experience, I learned the importance of having an interdisciplinary team for recovery and performance. As a former athlete, I share my passion for movement with others. My treatment style combines manual therapy and exercise using an individually tailored approach. I also have a passion for pelvic health, as it is an extremely important area that is commonly overlooked. Pelvic floor conditions are treatable, just like any other body part! My goal as a physiotherapist is to help patients get back doing the activities they love, as quickly as possible!
