Gua sha is an East Asian treatment modality that helps to release the fascial layer of the body. It involves lightly scraping various regions of the body and stimulating the energetic meridian system. This is a needle-free technique that utilizes gua sha tools made of organic material such a jade and ethically harvested buffalo horn. The benefits of gua sha include increased circulation, lymphatic drainage, and reduced muscle tension. It is especially effective at treating tension headaches, neck and shoulder tension and jaw pain.
