Lisa Fletcher graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria, BC in 2014 at which time she was honoured with receiving The Lindsay Atkinson-Duncan Memorial Award for, “Outstanding Qualities of Kindness, Perseverance, and Human Spirit”. She has enjoyed busy and satisfying practices in Victoria and Squamish, B.C., Niagara Falls, Ontario and is grateful for time spent as Clinic Director managing and supporting the student internship at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy. Lisa is honoured to support the North Island by offering Registered Massage Therapy in the Village of Port Alice. Coming from a background of emergency veterinary care, Lisa brings along with her extensive R.M.T. education, a deeper understanding, and appreciation, as well as hands-on experience of the living body and its dysfunction and disease processes. Lisa believes that positive therapeutic touch is of utmost importance for mental and emotional well-being and incorporates this philosophy into all of her treatments. Specific modalities used by Lisa in addition to more conventional approaches include post-mastectomy therapy, sternal-costal treatments for asthma, breathwork, manual lymph drainage, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, abdominal treatments, and low-impact joint mobilizations. Her practice is a trauma-informed, inclusive, safe place and she is honoured to hold space for those living with health conditions and experiences such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, cancer, hormonal health fluctuations, and body dysmorphia. In her off time you can find Lisa with her first love, the wild west coast of northern Vancouver Island, exploring the ocean, or taking her doggo friends on remote trail runs in the rainforest. She looks forward with gratitude to her daily reprieves by creating space for truthful connection, writing poetry, and meditation. She enjoys needle felting, playing her guitar, reading, gardening, weightlifting, and swimming. She finds joy in providing a kind and caring environment, helping others regain range of motion, decrease stress, and manage the varied pathologies benefited by massage therapy.
