Bergen Vermette is a physiotherapist who treats athletic injuries, workplace & ICBC injuries, and a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. He works with many different demographics helping them recover from injury, manage pain, and return to the activities that are important to them. His clinical interests include sports injury, strength & conditioning, combat sports, Hyrox & Crossfit, Veterans and First Responders. He helps active adults maintain long-term participation in sport and physical activity. In 2017, Bergen was recognized by the Canadian Physiotherapy Association for his work in developing the role of ringside physiotherapists in professional MMA and boxing. He was previously a guest lecturer at the U of S, and still enjoys providing mentorship and clinical training for physiotherapy students at UBC. His approach to care emphasizes understanding each patient's goals, identifying the factors contributing to their symptoms, and developing a practical plan for recovery. Treatment may include hands-on care, exercise, IMS, education, and strategies to help patients safely return to work, sport, and daily activities. Outside the clinic, Bergen is a recreational lifter and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor. He studied physiotherapy at the University of Saskatchewan and enjoys spending time outdoors with his family.
