During the initial assessment the physiotherapist will ask you about your current symptoms, your health history, and your goals. They will then bring you through a comprehensive physical examination. With the information gathered in the assessment the physiotherapist will determine if you are a good candidate for a therapeutic exercise style of care. If appropriate, you’ll begin therapeutic exercise sessions led by a physiotherapy assistant where you’ll be guided through a personalized program tailored to your goals, with modifications and progressions as needed. Close supervision ensures proper technique, safety, and steady improvement in strength, mobility, and function. The physiotherapist will reassess you at regular intervals to monitor progress and adjust your plan as needed.
