The initial assessment is an assessment of the problematic area(s) to make a diagnosis and develop a treatment plan followed by a first treatment. Included in this assessment is: a thorough survey of family / medical history, completion of a physical / orthopedic examination. The physical examination may include gait assessment, postural assessment, range of motion assessment, orthopedic assessment and neurological assessment.
