Mary graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy in 2001. Prior to that, she completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacology in 1996. She worked in Calgary for several years before embarking on a sabbatical that included a working stint in New Zealand. On her return to Canada, Mary moved to Red Deer, Alberta, where she enjoyed a wonderful practice for many years. Mary and her family were recently lured by the beauty of the west coast, and are now excited to call Victoria home. Mary is certified in both Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) and Acupuncture. She has also taken numerous post graduate courses that include K-taping, neuro-mobilization, therapeutic exercise, breathing mechanics, running injuries, whiplash, pelvic floor, and core training. Combining her love of needling and manual therapy in her treatments, she provides comprehensive quality client care. She is a firm believer that providing thorough client education is an essential part of their rehabilitation journey. Mary enjoys having a broad orthopaedic caseload and is happy to treat people who have sports injuries, tendonitis, headaches, aches and pains, and everything in between. Mary is passionate about fitness and wellbeing, and she tries to empower her clients to take an active role in their rehabilitation so they can get back to doing the things they wish to do. Outside of work, Mary loves adventure and travel. She also dabbles in all things active, such as mountain biking, hiking, running, skiing, yoga, and paddle boarding. In a previous life, she was a competitive weightlifter and attended the Canada Winter Games in PEI in 1991.
