2735 Clifton St, Suite 110, Halifax, NS, B3K 0L2

Francesca knew early on that she found great joy and gratification helping people. As an active youth, she experienced physiotherapy in her own life and saw first hand the important role a physiotherapist plays in a person’s life. It is these early experiences that shaped the physiotherapist she has become. Francesca is a compassionate and experienced physiotherapist. Originally from Ontario, Francesca graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 2004. She has completed her Levels 1, 2, 3 in Manual and Manipulative therapy. Francesca is also certified in Pelvic Health physiotherapy, and has completed all course levels offered, as well as post graduate prenatal/postpartum and pessary training. Francesca has over a decade of experience in therapeutic movement and holds certifications in Stott Pilates Mat work and Reformer. Many of her patients have become long term students in her classes, as they gather weekly to focus on active aging and injury prevention. Francesca has taken courses in acupuncture and dry needling, including GUNN IMS. She has also recently become Certified in the Schroth Method for Scoliosis, driven by a personal and professional desire to bring this evidence based treatment option to Nova Scotians. Francesca is currently the only certified Schroth practitioner in the Maritimes, and she sees both children and adults with scoliosis (spinal curves). Francesca’s treatment approach is informed by decades of clinical and educational experience. She believes in the power of education and collaboration, and that movement truly is medicine. With Francesca you can expect a warm smile, a thorough assessment, hands on treatment, exercise guidance, education, and a laugh or two.

Physiotherapy Assessment

*It is VERY IMPORTANT that at the time you book an assessment, you also book at least 2 follow-up appointments 1 to 2 weeks apart, if possible, as our therapists are booking up fully several weeks in advance. This will help ensure you receive timely follow-up. Your therapist will discuss treatment frequency during the assessment. Your initial physiotherapy assessment will consist of a health history, physical assessment, treatment, and education. Together with your physiotherapist, a treatment plan that will best support your health goals will be created.
