At Luminate Co Wellness Centre, we’re thrilled to welcome Katie Ryan, an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner with a deep commitment to holistic healing and whole-body wellness. Katie brings a unique perspective to her practice, shaped by her personal experience with injury and the transformative impact Osteopathy had on her own healing journey. Katie graduated from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy, completing an intensive 4,200-hour program, including over 1,500 hours of hands-on clinical training. She brings a deep understanding of how the body functions as an integrated whole. Rather than treating isolated symptoms, Katie seeks out the root causes of dysfunction to help clients support their body’s natural ability to self-heal and self-regulate. Katie’s general practice is complemented by a special interest in supporting women through various life stages—from postpartum recovery to perimenopause and postmenopause. She also has a keen interest in working with individuals experiencing chronic conditions such as Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, and Persistent Pain as well as working with Athletes of all levels to optimize performance and recovery. Outside of the clinic, Katie is often exploring Nova Scotia’s hiking trails, tending to her lush garden, or creating beautiful, handmade pieces through embroidery, knitting, needle felting, and punch needle art. With a background in design and a love for slow fashion, she brings creativity and care to everything she does. She’s also a devoted tea lover and always ready for a good cup and conversation. Katie is passionate about creating a calm, supportive environment where clients feel heard, empowered, and actively involved in their healing process. Katie is a proud member of the Osteopathy Canada (OSTCAN) and the Nova Scotia Association of Osteopaths (NSAO). As a member of the NSAO, Katie is not an Osteopathic Physician, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO, formerly Doctor of Osteopathy), nor does she practice Osteopathic Medicine. In Nova Scotia, Osteopathic Manual Practice is not a Regulated Health Profession (RHP) however the NSAO is actively seeking government regulation to protect the public and our profession. Osteopathic Manual Practitioners are not members of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
