Betty Huang graduated from McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She moved on to the University of Alberta where she obtained a Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 2016. After graduating from the University of Alberta, Betty obtained additional education in Vestibular Rehab Therapy and Concussion Rehabilitation while working with chronic pain patients and patients who have been suffering from persistent symptoms following motor vehicle accidents and work injuries. In addition, she received her certification in acupuncture and dry needling to better help her patients with their pain and discomfort. Moreover, since Betty is an avid learner, she obtained additional training in Pelvic Health. Since 2020, Betty has treated a variety of complex pelvic conditions such as Pelvic Girdle Pain, pelvic organ prolapse, stress incontinence, coccydynia, vaginismus, chronic non-bacterial prostatitis, pudendal neuralgia, interstitial cystitis and more. She also has experience in treating the perinatal population and loves working with pregnant women to help them with their birthing goals. In her free time, Betty enjoys running around with her young toddler, bouldering, running, and strength training.
This exam will consist of a review of your medical history, current problem and pain behavior, some evaluations to determine your mobility status, range of motion, muscle strength and function, ability to perform your daily activities. The treatment will be based on the findings from this assessment and may include shockwave therapy, dry needling ( IMS ), soft tissue massage or trigger point release, rehabilitation exercises to address your weak link, manual therapy / mobilization, education regarding proper self management of symptoms and a safe and healthy return to your sports and work demands.
