Mira earned her Bachelor of Science, minoring in Kinesiology and specializing in Athletic Therapy from the University of Winnipeg in 2023. She then wrote the National Exam for Athletic Therapy in June 2024 to Certify as an Athletic Therapist. Mira’s interest in Athletic Therapy began when she was 14 and encountered her own sport related injuries while playing soccer. As she continued to play through University her appreciation for the profession grew while she played for the University of Winnipeg soccer team and found support and guidance through the Athletic Therapists assisting the team. Mira values patient education and believes that it is an important driver in one’s recovery. She strives to provide her clients with a clear understanding of their injury and the recovery process, to help them get back to what they love to do. Mira uses a hands-on approach to her treatment, incorporating different manual therapy techniques such as massage, mobilizations and cupping, as well as exercise based treatment. She encourages physical activity to all her clients regardless of fitness level, age and ability and strongly believes that exercise promotes improved health and a better quality of life. Mira has experience creating strength and conditioning programs for both novice and experienced athletes for rehabilitative and performance goals and plans to certify as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) to continue her education and expand her knowledge of human movement and the physiology behind it. In her free time Mira still plays soccer recreationally, and competes in power-lifting. She also enjoys camping, hiking and fishing as other ways to stay healthy and happy.
