Christi Van Deusen has 25 years of experience as a licensed clinical Physical Therapist. She earned her Physical Therapy degree from the University of Washington in 1998, and practiced with Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington for 23 years before moving to Springfield in 2022. She is passionate about helping and empowering patients to optimize their physical function and comfort. Christi’s treatment approach is a combination of patient education, targeted exercises, and hands-on techniques. She tailors meaningful exercise and movement programs for her patients that can be readily incorporated into daily life. In addition to a wide variety of orthopedic issues, Christi is skilled at treating vestibular and balance deficits. Christi was a varsity rower for the UW Women’s crew team back in her college days. Although her competitive rowing days are long over, she loves floating the McKenzie River with her husband.. She also enjoys recreational archery, hiking, gardening, art and photography. “Physical Therapy should be specific to each individual and their personal mobility needs and wants: it is not a “cookbook approach” because each person’s “recipe” is a little different. We are complicated creatures, and it is important to look at the whole integrated system… the whole person… and not just the symptoms. Physical Therapy should be a collaboration. It’s about helping the client understand their body and about guiding them towards independence and healing.”
A physical therapy evaluation appointment is the first step toward recovery and improved physical health, lasting about an hour and involving a thorough assessment of your medical history, current symptoms, and overall physical condition.
