Rebecca Vaughan, RMT Rebecca successfully completed the 3000 hour RMT diploma at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria in December 2008. She lives and operates her business with her partner Jeremy in beautiful Fernie, BC. Rebecca bases her treatments on the patient’s individual needs and assists them in achieving optimal health and function. Therapeutic massage is used to treat a diverse range of conditions including: low back pain, pelvic pain, nerve impingement and compressions, muscle and joint rehabilitation, thoracic immobility, headaches, myofascial contractures, muscle tension and cramping, posture dysfunction and much more. Rebecca believes that working with the nervous system is the key in removing old holding patterns, releasing muscles and resetting them. Therefore, all treatments have a relaxation focus. A variety of techniques may be used, such as deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, muscle energy techniques, hydrotherapy, myo-fascial release, orthopaedic mobilization techniques, Reiki and Swedish massage. Rebecca considers the whole body to find the root of dysfunction. As a base of health, all clients are educated about proper posture and breathing. Rebecca gives self trigger-point releasing tips and customized stretches and strengthening routines to empower her patients to be proactive in their healing process.
