Gil is a Registered Acupuncturist who earned his Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine - Acupuncture from Kwantlen Polytechnic University with distinction. His academic recognition includes the 2023 Shen Nong Scholarship and Research Fund and several other awards. In 2024, he took part in the Chinese Medicine Culture Study Camp for KPU Students at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. He has volunteered with World Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture Culture Week since 2023 and has been a mentee with the BC Adaptive Mentorship Network for Pain, Mental Health and Substance Use since 2026. Gil's clinical focus includes ICBC recovery, sports injuries, acute and chronic pain, sleep concerns, headaches and migraines, fatigue, and stress and anxiety support. Depending on each patient's needs and goals, treatment may include acupuncture, cupping, Gua Sha, moxibustion, or Tui Na massage, together with lifestyle guidance and breathing exercises when appropriate. Gil believes patient education and empowerment are central to a consistent therapeutic relationship. He encourages lifestyle awareness and self-observation so patients can take an active role in their care. His Aikido practice, which began in 2002, inspired him to explore Zazen, Kokyu Ho, and Qi Gong. Outside the clinic, he enjoys photography, art exhibitions, music, cinema, and travelling with his wife.
