She first became interested in physical therapy as a teenager when she attended treatment herself after having some sports injuries. With that interest, combined with a passion for science and how the body works, Sheena graduated from the University of Alberta’s Master of Science in Physical Therapy program in 2009. For the first several years of her career, she worked with musculoskeletal injuries and developed an interest in the management of chronic and persistent pain. This led her to transition into treating pelvic health clients, an area which she is very passionate about. Sheena enjoys being actively involved in her profession through the University of Alberta, mentoring and training physical therapy students and therapists new to pelvic health. Style/Ideology: Sheena uses a client-centred approach to help her clients meet their goals. The treatment she provides focuses on education, self-management strategies, home exercises and manual therapy. She has completed postgraduate training in acupuncture, dry needling, visceral manipulation and chronic pain management. Fun Fact: Outside the clinic, Sheena loves camping, hiking, and playing board games. She is famous amongst her friends and family for her cartoon characters.
