Dr Tynan Flegg is a Chiropractor who graduated from Palmer Chiropractic College . Dr Ty’s sports career included college baseball as a left handed pitcher for the VIU Mariners and the Fitchburg State Falcons, from 2008-2012 while studying for a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science. After retirement from baseball, Dr Ty worked as a Strength & Conditioning Coach as well as a Sports Massage Therapist, from 2013 to 2017. What’s a rehab-based Chiropractor? To put it simply, I don’t practice under the traditional alignment model. I’m not here to “put bones back in place” or chase small biomechanical shifts in your spine. Outside of looking for larger joint fixations, I don’t view alignment as the target of care. Instead, I practice in an evidence-based framework, which means I use a wide range of techniques to achieve both short-term relief and long-term, sustainable results. Short-term modulation of symptoms: manual therapy techniques like Active Release, cupping, and instrument-assisted soft tissue therapy. Long-term solutions: shockwave therapy, targeted exercise, repeated motions, nerve-centered dynamic movements, nutrition, programming, and lifestyle recommendations. I see manual therapy as a supportive tool — something that helps in the moment — while the real foundation for lasting change comes from progressive, evidence-driven strategies that build durability, resilience, and performance. My approach shares common ground with physiotherapists, osteopaths, naturopaths, personal trainers, TCM practitioners, and many others in the orthopedic healthcare space. At the end of the day, it’s about choosing the right tool at the right time to help people move better, recover faster, and get back to doing what they love.
