Melissa is an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner who helps you improve how your body moves and functions by addressing the underlying mechanical patterns contributing to pain, restriction, and tension. Her focus is on understanding how the body works as a whole, rather than viewing symptoms in isolation. She is certified by OSTCAN and trained at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy, a four-year program focused on classical osteopathic principles and the body as an interconnected mechanical system. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences from Western University and developed an early interest in healthcare through her work in vision therapy, supporting individuals with concussion-related and visual challenges. This experience shaped her appreciation for how movement, balance, and coordination are influenced by how the body functions as a whole. Her approach is gentle, thorough, and fully individualized. Each treatment is based on what you are coming in with that day and how your body is presenting in that moment. She works with the belief that your body has a natural ability to self-heal and self-regulate when given the right conditions, and care is designed to support this by improving overall balance and function. What sets her approach apart is the level of individualization in each session. Your presentation, history, and current needs guide how treatment is delivered on that day, rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach. Melissa takes time to listen and assess carefully so your care is responsive to you as an individual. She also collaborates with other healthcare providers when appropriate to support coordinated, multidisciplinary care.
