Rising Sun Massage Therapy

18409 65th ave , BSMT, Surrey, BC, V3S8T1

Sherry graduated from the Registered Massage Therapy program at Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in 2019 with honours. Sherry offers compassionate, trauma-informed care with a deep respect for the body’s innate intelligence and capacity to heal. Her approach is gentle, attuned, and patient-centred, emphasizing safety, consent, and collaboration throughout each treatment. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms or isolated areas of discomfort, Sherry approaches the body as an interconnected whole; recognizing the relationship between structure, movement, the nervous system, and lived experience. She brings genuine passion and care to supporting her patients through rehabilitation and individualized treatment planning. Sherry works collaboratively with each patient to develop well-rounded treatment plans that support optimal function, improved mobility, and sustainable, pain-free movement. Her goal is not only to reduce pain, but to support long-term regulation, resilience, and embodied awareness. Over the years, Sherry’s therapeutic approach has evolved toward more refined and subtle modalities informed by osteopathic principles. Her work now integrates visceral manipulation, ligamentous release, and other gentle techniques that support the body’s internal balance and self-regulatory capacity. These approaches are thoughtfully combined with Swedish massage, neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release, joint mobilization, active movement strategies, kinesiology taping, hot and cold stone therapy, PNF stretching (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation), Muscle Energy Technique (MET), and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), as clinically appropriate. Sherry has experience treating a wide range of conditions, with a deep passion for supporting women’s health. Her work includes addressing concerns related to menstrual dysregulation, bladder function, and digestive imbalances, approached through a gentle, whole-body lens. She also treats a broad spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions commonly seen in massage therapy practice, including TMJ dysfunction (including intra-oral treatment), rotator cuff injuries, plantar fasciitis, postural dysfunctions, sports-related injuries, tension headaches, and other systemic and functional conditions.
