Ogden Massage for Pain Relief

“Our body is a masterpiece of the cosmos. Our body carries within it the stars, the moon, the universe, and the presence of all our ancestors.” — Thich Nhat Hanh Techniques: Foot Reflexology Certified Muscle Activation Technique Therapist Ira worked as a massage therapist for 20 years in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Her specialties included treatment plans to restore postural balance, deep tissue, medical massage, hot stones, foot reflexology and reiki. She developed her knowledge of anatomy as an instructor in massage schools and yoga teacher training programs. Ira was privileged to work for Dr. Favero (Favero Chiropractic), where she expanded her understanding of the nervous system and how to expedite the body’s self-healing mechanisms. Ira is elated to introduce Muscle Activation Technique to North Ogden, and to share her love of reflexology. Her intention is to help revitalize and mobilize the body, so that her clients are empowered and energized to enjoy their lives and fulfill the longing in their hearts. Passions and Influences: Ira’s first experiences of healing came from her mother’s nurturing touch, the comfort and companionship of her childhood cat, Bacchus, and Mother Nature’s nourishing and restorative presence. Her spiritual life was ignited early in massage school, while studying the subtle contours of bones and the intricate design of checks and balances within the body. Ira also enjoys the arts, creative hobbies, yoga, mantra practice, meditation, nature walks and the therapeutic benefits of classic rock.
Massage Therapy
This combination is perfect for the person who has two separate areas competing for attention; with extra time to care for both, the client gains the unique benefits of MAT and stills enjoy the results of focused, specific massage to the second area in need of tension relief, hydration and nourishment of muscles. MAT is a maximum of one hour. Please note: massage cannot be performed in the same area treated through MAT.
Reflexology
Reflexology is a technique based on the premise that the feet, hands and ears contain zones and reflex areas that correspond to all body parts. The feet are treated through the application of specific pressures using thumbs, fingers and hand techniques. Because each foot contains (on average) 200,000 nerve endings, Reflexology benefits include local muscle relief and improved circulation, as well as whole body relaxation. This modality is a great option for those whom circulatory massage is contraindicated or for those who prefer to remain clothed. Pressure is adjusted to client preference.
