Shayne Hayward, Physiotherapist, BScKin, MPT, CEP Shayne has a strong background in sports rehabilitation and performance. He brings a dynamic and integrated approach to recovery, combining clinical expertise with strength and conditioning principles to support athletes through every stage of their rehabilitation. Prior to joining Banff Sport Medicine, Shayne served as the head therapist for multiple varsity teams with University of Saskatchewan’s Huskie Athletics. His extensive work in both the therapy room and the weight room has equipped him with a deep understanding of the physical demands and movement patterns unique to a wide range of sports. Shayne earned his Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Saskatchewan in 2021, following a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Honours and Great Distinction in 2017. He became a CSEP Certified Exercise Physiologist in 2018 and has worked as a strength and conditioning coach for high-performance athletes across hockey, soccer, baseball, football, volleyball, and basketball. This hands-on experience continues to inform his therapeutic practice, allowing him to tailor recovery strategies that are both sport-specific and athlete-centered. Shayne is passionate about delivering innovative, evidence-based care. He is certified in biomedical dry needling and values the use of technology in rehabilitation to enhance outcomes and engagement. Whether working with elite athletes or active individuals recovering from injury, Shayne is committed to helping his clients return to, and excel in, the activities they love.
