Initial Assessment

An initial assessment is more than a formality—it is the foundation for safe, effective, and individualized rehabilitation. It allows the exercise program to be tailored to the client’s current physical, emotional, and medical status, ensuring that all interventions are appropriate and aligned with their needs and goals. The initial assessment includes a comprehensive review of the following: * Medical history and cancer diagnosis details * Current and past treatments, including related side effects * Medications and supplements * Physical fitness testing * Functional movement screening * Strength, balance, and mobility assessment * Behavioral evaluation, motivation, and personal goals * Lymphedema screening (when applicable) * Fatigue and pain assessment * Lifestyle factors and previous physical activity levels * Individualized exercise prescription This thorough assessment process ensures a safe starting point and provides a clear framework for progressive, evidence-based rehabilitation.
