Mareike is a dedicated graduate of the rigorous 3000+ hour Registered Massage Therapy program at Kootenay Columbia College in Nelson. Originally from Germany, her passion for understanding the human body began early, driven by a desire to explore how our actions and behaviors influence overall health. After overcoming several injuries herself, Mareike personally witnessed the transformative power of massage and other therapeutic treatments in restoring strength and well-being. She is grateful to now be part of the community that played such an important role in her recovery. Whether clients are dealing with stress, pain, or recovering from an injury, Mareike uses her professional expertise to help alleviate discomfort and support overall well-being. She integrates a variety of techniques, including Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, IASTM, muscle energy techniques, and joint mobilizations. Additionally, she incorporates orthopedic assessments, therapeutic exercises, and self-care education to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each client’s individual needs and goals. Mareike values a team-based approach, and promotes working alongside the interdisciplinary team. Outside the clinic, Mareike enjoys an active lifestyle in the Kootenays, including backcountry skiing, snowboarding, trail running, hiking, canoeing, and strength training. She is excited to be part of the Kootenay Integrated Health team and to provide quality care to the local community.
