Kathy is a Physiotherapist with a focus on rehabilitation through education and change. She graduated with a B.Sc.(Hons) in Physiotherapy from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, Scotland. Then furthered her specialization in orthopaedic and manual therapy working as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist in Scotland for 6 months prior to her relocation to Canada. Kathy continued post graduate education, in Canada, obtaining certification with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute in 2005 and achieving Fellowship in the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy in 2011, which is the highest accreditation in Canada for orthopedic Physiotherapy. She is a STOTT Pilates Rehabilitation Instructor, which gives her a unique expertise in movement and exercise prescription. STOTT Pilates is an excellent addition to Physiotherapy as it incorporates modern exercise science and rehabilitation principles to improve core strength and balance the muscles around the joints to improve the way your body functions, feels and performs. In order to provide quality care, Kathy believes in a detailed assessment, trying to look at the ‘whole picture’ and incorporating treatments guided on a more holistic approach. With her treatments she can offer a variety of options including; manual and manipulative therapy, acupuncture, intramuscular stimulation, exercise prescription and core rehabilitation with an emphasis on patient education. She has a keen interest in yoga and Pilates and likes to incorporate these principles into her physiotherapy practice. Outside of work: Kathy enjoys exploring the great outdoors and likes to keep active with running, biking, hiking. Her greatest passion is Rowing followed closely by kayaking and she loves to spend time on the ocean. Yoga is thrown in there to try to maintain some balance.
