Sangdon Oh, R.Ac is a Registered Acupuncturist in British Columbia (R. Ac., CCHPBC) with a diploma in Acupuncture from Vancouver Career College (PCU) and a background in BSc. Computer Science in South Korea. His journey into Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) began after experiencing neck, shoulder and back pain from a motor vehicle accident. Through the ICBC-funded acupuncture program, he discovered firsthand the effectiveness of acupuncture which inspired him to pursue formal studies in TCM. He spent two years living in Shanghai where he immersed himself in Chinese culture and studied Mandarin at Shanghai University. This experience deepened his appreciation for Eastern philosophy and strengthened his commitment to integrative medicine. He is currently expanding his expertise by studying Herbology, exploring safe and effective herbal formulas to complement his acupuncture practice. Clinically, he has experience treating a wide range of conditions, including musculoskeletal pain, stress-related disorders, digestive concerns, sleep issues, and women’s health. His approach emphasizes combining acupuncture with adjunctive therapies such as Cupping, Gua Sha (Scraping massage), Acupressure and Tuina (Chinese massage) to deliver comprehensive, personalized care . Outside of his clinical work, he enjoys swimming, fitness training and jogging. A passionate traveler, he has visited over 40 countries, embracing local cultures and cuisines along the way. His global perspective and diverse experiences enrich his ability to connect with patients from all walks of life and support their healing journeys with empathy and skill.

In TCM, external symptoms are the manifestation of internal imbalances. Hence, a TCM practitioner assesses one’s state of health by analysing external symptoms displayed to seek evidence of internal problems. Unique diagnostic methods are used to collect and analyse clinical information. inspection (observation), auscultation and olfaction (listening and smelling), interrogation (inquirying or questioning), and palpation (pulse examination).
