Kori grew up in Macklin, spending most of her time playing sports or working at Rona, and as a lifeguard at Macklin Pool. She graduated from Macklin school in 2016, from there she moved to Red Deer, and then made the journey to Newfoundland in 2017. Kori received her diploma from Academy Canada in Development of Health and Human Science in Massage Therapy, becoming a Registered Massage Therapist in the fall of 2020. Since receiving her diploma she has completed various continuing education courses including, Myofascial Cupping, Gua Sha, Optimizing Hip and Knee Function: Management for Osteoarthritis and Lower Extremity Replacements, and an in depth course of Fitness Theory and Exercise Physiology. “I absolutely love working as a Registered Massage Therapist, and helping people manage their pain, improve their range of motion, and treat numerous conditions, such as piriformis syndrome, thoracic outlet syndrome, and many other musculoskeletal conditions. During my treatments, I focus on a combination of relaxation and deep tissue techniques, using General Swedish Massage. I also work on stretching and strengthening specific muscle groups, and use techniques such as joint mobilizations, hydrotherapy, and other modalities that assist with scar tissue, trigger points, and other dysfunctions. As well, I provide remedial exercise recommendations to aid clients in their recovery at home. I am beyond excited to move back home to Macklin and see so many familiar faces, as well as expand my knowledge working alongside a chiropractor and physiotherapist.”
