Effie graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Memorial University in 2020. She recently completed a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University in 2023. Effie has completed clinical placements in a variety of settings such as acute care, inpatient stroke rehab, outpatient hospital setting and private practice (including a senior placement here at Active Life). Effie uses a holistic and client-based approach to treatment that incorporates exercise prescription, education, and manual therapy. Being a new grad, Effie is excited to build on her current physiotherapy skill set by taking orthopedic and other educational courses in the future to determine which areas of physiotherapy are of special interest to her. When she is not working or travelling home to the South Coast of Labrador for a visit with family, you can most likely find her exploring the West Coast and enjoying the great outdoors. Whether it be on a hiking trail, cross country skiing, kayaking or camping in Gros Morne National park, she’s always up for an adventure!
