My Story… After many years working in an office, sitting behind a computer all day, everyday, I knew I had to make a change in my life. I needed something new. But I didn't know what. Then after losing both of my parents (only 2.5 weeks apart) I realized that life is too short to wait for "some day I'll____ " (fill in the blank with: think about a new career, eat better, lose weight, exercise more...) I knew in order to get healthier I had to make conscious changes. I had to stop procrastinating and I had to "just do it"! Not just for my body, but for my spirit as well. I needed healing in my life and I wanted to share my healing journey with others. So I took a huge leap of faith and reduced my work schedule to just 1 day a week and I went back to school. First I got certified as a Reiki practitioner. This energy work was wonderful. It helped soothe my broken heart and it gave me a new found focus. But it wasn't enough. I needed something more hands on and physical. After a conversation with my chiropractor, I decided to study massage therapy. And I'm so glad I did. At times I feel as if a divine force is guiding me on this healing path. During my sessions, I feel that I am healing myself as well as my clients. It is truly a gift. And I am so happy that I get to share that gift with my clients.
Smooth stones are heated and then lubricated with oil or essential oils, the therapeutic effects of heat are used to relax muscles more deeply. Used as an extension of the therapist’s hands, the use of massage stones induces deep relaxation and provides a unique experience many find to be tremendously calming and centering.
